How We Work

Astrid Design Group is part of Decorating Den Interiors’ network of designers throughout the U.S. and Canada. As a Decorating Den Interiors franchise, we have access to a vast range of home goods—from furniture to fabrics to accessories—in a wide variety of styles and price points. Here’s how we’ll collaborate to create your idea space.

1. Quick Call

We’ll start with a 15-minute phone conversation to establish your goals and learn about your lifestyle. What do you want to accomplish with this space? How do you want to feel when you are in it? How much do you want to invest?

Astrid Design Group is a no-fee firm*, which means you only pay for the products you incorporate into your final design. We have trade accounts with more than 130 suppliers; we buy our products at wholesale and sell them to our clients at retail, much like any retail store—except our interior design services are included for free.* 

Bring: Your goals, your budget and your questions.

*If you choose not to buy any products at the end of our design phase, then we will charge an hourly design fee for our time. 

2. Initial Tour

We will meet you on-site (always adhering to current social distancing guidelines), or schedule a virtual tour if an in-person visit isn’t possible, for our initial complimentary consultation. We would like to tour your entire home or office, so we can understand your current style and preferences. The tour helps us see how your current project flows into adjoining areas and whether you have any existing furniture or decor that could be relocated to the room we are working on. Seeing your whole space also gives us context for any future projects you may want to pursue. We may take photos, videos and measurements. This is when we really start to get to know you—and begin dreaming together!

3. Design Presentation

Astrid Design Group will take everything we learned from our tour and develop a customized interior design presentation for you. Your presentation will be 100 percent unique—just like your final design. You may see a mix of color palettes, fabric options, furniture choices, floor plans, or accessories—whatever it takes to showcase our shared vision for your space. We’ll work together to make sure this plan meets your goals, style and lifestyle. After you sign off on the final plan, we’ll begin procuring all the parts we need to bring the design to life. Timelines will vary based on your project and product availability, and we’ll keep you updated on our progress the whole way until installation day.

4. Reveal Day

If your project scope allows, we try to install your entire design all in one day, so you can experience the magic of a dramatic before-and-after transformation—just like on your favorite interior design TV shows. This is the really fun part.
